Art nouveau

Art Nouveau is written in French and it means new art. Art isn't mean to be studied like science or Maths , art flaws through the soul , twist through the consciousness and decorates life. This is how art Nouveau was seen at that time. This movement was founded in the late 19th Century.

Art Nouveau was introduced in Paris by Samuel Bing who had opened a Saloon named the same as Art Nouveau around the 1890's. So basically , Art Nouveau was around the 19th century and lasted till the world war 1, The movement's name came from another shop that was named La Maison de l'art Nouveau in Paris as well and this shop used to promote modern ideas.

One could identify Art Nouveau from decorations within the artworks.

A very popular figure in art Nouvou was Alphonso Mucha . Mucha was born in the 1860 and lost his life in 1939. The decorative art in churches were the inspiration of Mucha and then he started his life as an artisan. In 1877 Mucha moved to Paris and has designed a poster for Sarah Bernhardt.

The below image is a fan art poster that took place in an online game competition on their forums.(World of Warcraft) One can clearly see the decoration around the border of the photo and that it resembles the Art Nouveau movement.



The typography is also decorative and for this fact the font face type is not suitable for reading a large chunk of text. On the other hand , if used for a larger aspect such as signs this is perfect as it is very decorative and very luxurious looking.
